Princeton ED Lounge

A guy is getting recruited to Princeton from my school. He got flown in all expense paid for a weekend. He said Princeton has the hottest girls.

waves back to Zantedeschia

Man, just like old times. At least now P'ton can lead the Ivy pack. Seeing us in like 6th place on the old forum was always depressing. Tigers #1 all the way, baby!

And I so want to be a post whore. I mean, if I can't be a real-life whore, I've gotta be one at something ;-) Good times, good times

What sport?

What is he getting recruited for?

People here are crazy...when the Princeton admissions officer came to visit my school and asked if we had gone to visit, everyone was like "yea i visited three times" "yea i visited twice and had an overnight" "yea my sister goes there so I go all the time" "both my parents went there so I practically live on campus" I mean geez, jersey is close, but is that really necessary?

actually, two people not one. Crew.

lol yay to being post whores then. I wish they carried over from the old board though, i would have like ten thousand posts then.

Haha, that's funny. Whenever someone at my school finds out I'm applying to Princeton, they just say, "Whoa," and their eyes get really big and cloud over. It's the funniest thing. We're having a P'ton info session up in Dallas next Sunday, so I can't wait to go. Sheez.

Whenever, I say I'm applying to Yale... my classmates usually say "Why not Harvard?" Then, I say why? And they're like "because you're a minority, and first in the class". I usually say something to the effect that AA doesn't work for Canadians.

I'm just wondering, but why does your prstats page say "Chi-Town" for location?

That begs another question.. why does the general masses think that Harvard is better than yale and Yale is better than Princeton.

I live in Chi-town. You wouldn't get it unless you knew where I lived.

That's actually a good question--a question that I stopped trying to answer a long time ago. After I got over the whole prestige vs. prestige thing, I found how little it really mattered. I love Princeton. Yale's a great school. Harvard is too. Different strokes for different folks, though, so you have differences of opinion, I suppose.

H,Y, and P are right up there to most people, but some see Harvard as above everything else because that's typically the first college they hear about.

MDawg, are you applying to any HBCUs?

I'm the only person applying to Princeton ED at my school. I go to an international school, so a lot of kids go to European universities.

I don't think so david. I thought about Howard or Morehouse, but I really want some diversity. Nothing against those schools or anything, but I prefer a mixture. I'm still thinking about applying to one of those two though.

Eight people from my school are applying ED to princeton. My grade only has 115 people. And many of those people have extensive legacies. Ugh, so depressing!

I was considering applying to Morehouse. I actually gave up, when I couldn't an application form anywhere on their site. I even sent the admissions office an email, which I still haven't received a reply to... And this was about a month ago.

I just checked your list, and I realized that our schools are completely identical. But you'll probably get into Princeton. So... our lists won't be similar. Your SAT scores are really good and AA will give you a nice healthy boost. Just curious, are you applying for financial aid?

That's unfortunate about Morehouse. I'm sure they'd love to have you, and they'd offer quite a lot of money.

If the 2nd part is also to me: I am applying for financial aid (I'll post more on this in a minute or so). I'm also trying to improve my scores a lot, so I don't have to worry about AA. I know it'll probably be taken into consideration, but I want to improve just for myself. I want to know that I earned it (in my opinion). I'd really love to get into Princeton, but if for some reason I can't, I hope I can get into another good school.

MDawg, that's exactly the way I've approached the whole admissions process, especially to Princeton. I want to get in because I know I had the "total package," not just because of AA. Hence the reason why I'm retaking my SAT I as well. Best of luck. :-)
