Right now, Princeton is my top choice and other I'm interested in are Duke, Stanford, Brown, Harvard and MIT, UMichigan Ann Arbor, USC, UIllinois Champaign-Urbana, and Berkeley. What are my chances at these schools and what should my safety schools be?

Should I use the October SAT to take the french SAT IIs? Should I retake the Lit SAT II? Or should I use the test date to retake the SAT I?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

please help

I thnk,
your stats are good
princeton - slight reach
Brown - match

go French and Lit SAT II's. Your SAT I is fine, but all of that music s*** is pretty gay. JK, I have no idea about your situation as far as Princeton is concerned, but it's all good nonetheless.

any more opinions?

1 quesiton out of curiosity. are you considered URM?

Stop by the Princeton forum and sign up on the ED roster! :)

bump........

bump.......

will anyone else help me?

come on!!!

please please help!!!

It seems that you have an okay chance, but I would definitely not say you have a sure chance or anything, only because while your resume is good, it is really average of most of their applicants. Be sure to compile several safety schools. If you want to lump it in your categories, it would definitely be a reach. Good luck!

thanks a lot

If you were to compare your SAT scores with Hispanic applicants around the country, you'd quickly discover that you are in the top 100-150 in the nation. You are top 3% in your school. And there is nothing else on your resume that would tend to suggest that's a fluke. I think you are going to get in everywhere.

You'll get in because you're a minority. Without that...

Don't let anyone guilt-trip you. You are not going to get in because you are a minority. You are going to get in because Princeton (and virtually every other school) sees the advantage to the institution and to All of its students of having highly qualified minority students within its student body (the majority of whom received great boosts in admissions through their family incomes.)

Apply regular decision this week to Michigan and you may hear before the deadline for safety schools. They tell students on a rolling basis. At Princeton and Harvard, your Hispanic background will not count because you are probably not disadvantaged. Penn would be interested in you and isn't all hung up on the disadvantaged label.
