I disagree...I went to an info session last night, and the adcom mentioned that although B.S.E. students will get an excellent engineering education, any Princeton degree is fundamentally a liberal arts one. He said that at Princeton, engineering students are encouraged (and required) to explore subjects outside of their major. Some may see this as getting in the way of a "professional" education, but I personally like it because I'm interested in engineering but still want to take advantage of other great departments.

"A bit off topic, what I am trying to figure out is that Princeton says that they do not have undergraduate professional schools or at least play it down."

the only claim i ever hear is that princeton lacks professional schools at the graduate level. while the architecture, engineering, and woodrow wilson schools may technically constitute professional schools, most people understand the term to cover the big three only: business, law, and med. in that sense, no prof schools.
