I put in my common application essay that I wanted to major in bioengineering but Princeton only has the Bioengineering track as part of Chemical engineering. Do you think it will matter much to them that I put that?
They recently changed their Chemical Engineering department to Chemical and Biological engineering because of the popularity of the bioengineering track. The lady from Chemical engineering said its okay to talk about Bioengineering in my essays but I put that I want to MAJOR in it in the common app essay and I realized after I sent it.

LOL@your username.

At this point, I don’t think you can do much. I doubt it will matter either, especially since there is at least bioengineering track. You can always clarify this in your interview (subtly), so I wouldn’t be too concerned.

At this point just don’t worry about it. The interviewer fills out a form or writes a letter and sends it to the admission committee, they don’t actually talk with the adcoms. There is no way they would write down on the form “pleaseyale is aware that there is no bioengineering major” unless you explicitly told them too, which would make them think you were weird and would be a bad idea.

And no, I don’t think it will matter too much.

They wouldn’t put that, but the OP can somehow make his interests clear and/or speak about majoring in one of the programs Princeton does offer. That would be part of the “subtly.”
