My question involves questbridge. Supposedly, Princeton has a lower admit rate for this group as compared to RD. Is this because QuestBridge applicants are somehow “worse,” or is it just because they don’t want to give out money?

silverturtle, it depends on what engineering department you are talking about. Several of Princeton’s engineering departments are ranked in the top ten in the country. The Princeton Engineering faculty isn’t too shabby either:

^ I am not saying that Princeton is weak in engineering, just that it is not generally perceived as one of its strengths.

In the context of the Ivy League, it is undoubtedly considered one of its strengths.

^ Yes, I agree.

Do most people do their own laundry or opt for a laundry service?

I’ve heard horror stories about doing self-laundry (people stealing clothes, dumping wet clothes on the floor if you arent there to pick them up, etc) , and since princeton is HARD, I don’t want to spend all of my time doing the laundry. On the other hand, $450 for yearlong laundry service seems a bit pricey…

Is it possible to take two languages at Princeton or is it pretty much impossible to fit them both in, along with everything else? (I guess I’m asking about colleges in general - I’d like to learn another foreign language on top of continuing Spanish in college, but I’m not sure if it’s possible.)

In Forbes, most people will take your clothes out of a washing machine and put them in a dryer for you if they need a machine. I assume it is the same in other colleges. And it’s free laundry - can’t complain about that.

Regarding languages: It is definitely possible, though time-consuming, to take more than one language, and I wouldn’t recommend doing them at the same time. One of my friends completed the Spanish sequence after testing into intermediate, then took two years of Mandarin Chinese (which, any Princeton student will tell you, is quite a difficult sequence).

Regarding laundry: Honestly, just do your own laundry. Almost nobody uses the laundry service (especially after freshman year), and people tend to follow good laundry etiquette. It doesn’t take too much of your time.

Regarding engineering: The Engineering School is definitely one of Princeton’s strengths – it’s half the reason I applied here. While we might not get a lot of word-of-mouth, we’re definitely on all the lists.

Will I look like a sissy if I bring my stuffed turtle pillow?

I don’t know anything more manly than turtles.

okay, thank you :)

QUOTE: Will I look like a sissy if I bring my stuffed turtle pillow?

Awwww you are so cute :)

And are you really going to Princeton Silverturtle? I knowest that thou is the CC legend (ehh that was all the oldish english I could fit into the sentence) but I wasn’t sure where you are going…or even if you were a senior yet :)

^ I will be a high-school senior next year, so we’ll see.

Good Luck Is Princeton your #1 choice?

^ I haven’t established a first-choice school yet. I figure that I’ll narrow it down after decisions are released.

^ Won’t you be applying for Fall 2011?

Did you give your tests when you were a sophomore?

When does a new session begin in your school? (or American high schools)

Yes, I will be.

I took the SAT in my freshman and junior years and will be using my more recent score.

My senior year starts in late August.

^ How do you quote people?
