i noticed a discrepancy in the princeton financial aid application and i'm not sure what to do. in the estimator, they said to exclude all retirement funds under investments but this line is absent in the actual application. As such i'm not sure whether to include my parent's retirement fund or not. I have sent an email to the princeton financial aid office last week as well as today but have not gotten a reply and the jan 15 date is coming up.

its quite significant because my country deducts a percentage of monthly income to form a retirement fund for the person. this will later be released once the person reaches a certain age.

Joe, I certainly don’t know the answer but I do have a suggestion. I would respond to the form just as it is (ignoring the discrepancy with the online calculator) and then continue to deal with the issue after you’ve submitted the aid application. It’s important to meet the deadline for the application and Princeton will certainly modify your profile as appropriate after the issue is resolved.

How about including that information in the Page 6 (I think it was page 6...) under "additional info"? (well, of course, if you already haven't used that space for some other information)

thanks for all the advice, the suggested deadline is jan 15 but on the website it says no later than feb 1st, so i think i'll wait a few more days to see if princeton replies to my queries. if not i'll mention on page 6 that i did not include retirement plan value and why i did not, i guess they'll contact me if the want to know the value right? thanks to everyone again.
