Dartmouth gets shafted by the Princeton Review- why? It's not mentioned for a single accolade, other than landing on the "good school to go to" list. Is this a Reed/US News type thing? Just curious.

No. Their top ranking of attributes are based on the results of student survey campaigns (so in part they are dependent upon the degree to which a good cross section of students respond) - but from what I understand, they only conduct surveys on a given campus every three years, unless something extraordinary happens on a campus in the interim. And they publish the 10-20, so you don’t easily know where on the contium of the 365 'odd schools they survey a school falls if not in the top few.

So, maybe the Princeton Review-reliant prospective students will never understand just how high happy and satisfied with academics, faculty, etc. Dartmouth students are - which, by so many other measures, is true.

Just found it odd that US News ranks Dartmouth @ 1 for teaching (national uni’s), but it doesn’t even crack the PR top 20 for “Best Classroom Experience”, “Professors Get High Marks”, “Most Accessible Professors”, or “Class Discussions Encouraged”.
