The list is rubbish, in my opinion.

University (IS cost, OOS cost)
1. UVA ($20,173, $40,473)
2. New College of Florida ($16,043, $34,966)
3. William & Mary ($20,600, $39,600)
4. Binghamton ($18,718, $26,818)

9. UGA ($16,758, $33,070)
10. TCNJ ($21,920, $30,027)

Compare to UNC Chapel Hill ($16,370, $33,874), which should have been ranked #1 on the list. It meets virtually 100% of need, awards an average need-based grant of $9445, and its Carolina Covenant program offers generous aid for low-income students. It's not even listed among Princeton Review's larger list of the top fifty best value publics, although four other public NC universities (NCSU, UNCA, UNCG, UNCW) are!

Wisconsin-Madison ($19,028, $33,278) is noticeably missing from the top 50, as is UF ($15,740, $33,350)- although NCF, FSU, UNF, USF, and UCF made the top 50.

Kiplinger's is much, much more useful than this "ranking."

It's also missing University of Minnesota-TC. How much cheaper can OS tuition be for a school like that?

I DO agree that Princeton is a fantastic value. Incredible education, low tuition, generous financial aid (no loans)

why are people crying over UNC not being on the list, who cares, you know it is a good value, isnt that enough?

i think they are just quoting UNC as a good example that the list is far from accurate/comprehensive
