Hey everyone I'm beginning a Princeton Review SAT Test Prep. Course in a few days, and I was wondering if its any good? I've heard Kaplan's sucks because their questions are too easy, but is the Princeton Review's tests/diagnostics actually going to be similar to what I can relatively expect on the SAT? I find that 899$ is a ENORMOUS Price, so just before I go in I hope that it hasn't all been for nothing =

do they give u the 11 princeton review test book with your course, just wondering?

Dunno, it begins tommorrow at the local university but i didnt recieve any material yet

Don't rely on any other company's tests. That book with the 11 tests is not an official SAT book and I tried one of them and it's somewhat misleading. The questions are good for practicing SAT-type questions, but don't rely on the scores it spits out to be an accurate indication of where you really stand.

-______-

so its prob like +/- 50 points on the real SAT from what I get on their practice tests? (generallization)

thats the thing u really can't even generalize that, btw are u using the 11 sats book in your class... i've been using that lately and too me it seems tougher than the real thing.

yea Im using that one, it does seem tougher but to me its better than Kaplan whos too easy...

yea i agree, kaplan was way too easy, but princeton review definetly seems tougher in both subjects than the collegeboard tests

after taking that test my head felt like exploding...

which test?

well just remembering back to the 1st one, I guess its just cause Its been so long since I had to do a SAT in 1 sitting...lol

I'd say their practice tests are pretty accurate. The last test I took for Princeton review was only 30 points lower than what I got on the actual SAT

The people in my PR class arent that smart....500-600 range for most of em per section....

hopefully it's good...I'm starting mine sunday...my brothers said it really helped them (200 points on math basically)...my school sucks at math (like, teaching the WRONG things in algebra, so basically I have to rely on myself)

RBC, what score are you starting at? I've heard they group people by initial scores, so you should be able to ask to switch to another class.

And as you've probably already figured out, yes, the course comes with 11 Practice Tests. I thought those tests were pretty good.

i can't figure out whether or not the course helped me or they just made the tests easier every week

i started off at a 1970 and moved up to a 2350...

Well I took the Diagnostic after the class began, and I think that was the only class offered so idk. I'm still waiting for my diagnostic to come back so yea. But I score normally in the high 600's/low 700's per section right now (PSAT sophmore year) and the people in my class can barely answer basic arithmetic questions =\ lol

A 400 Point jump is pretty intense o_o
