Princeton Review just updated it’s 2015 game design program rankings. So many new programs are coming up. These rankings are quite different from their national University and liberal arts rankings.
My son has been admitted to the following programs and will have to choose between them by May 1. Any insights as to how they compare would be helpful. How would you rank them?
Case Western, RPI, WPI, RIT, Drexel, DePaul, Baylor, Becker, Hampshire, North Carolina State-Raleigh
I know that RIT is supposed to be very good for game design. I’ve heard very good things about DePaul’s game design program, too. Case Western is certainly the most prestigious on your list, so that might garner it a look.
Drexel’s program is great–but be aware it is an urban kind of decentralized campus. Becker seems to have a great program in game design but other academics are quite weak.
@hungryteenager - If only life was that easy. lol. @minohi Case is offering the most substantial scholarship and wrote him a handwritten note that really impressed him which he found welcoming. He has now decided to focus on the schools that have the design program offerings over the six others he got into which only offer straight computer science so I didn’t bother to mention them earlier. I’m not seeing much feedback on the offerings Case has for it’s game design minor. It’s doubtful we will be able to visit so any feedback appreciated. The rankings in this category seem to fluctuate widely from year to year so not sure how reliable they are.
