Princeton SCEA Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

So am I right that the only concrete pieces of information are that the website says "mid-December. and a tweet from 12/10 that says “Applicants will be notified soon about when SCEA decisions will be made available.” ?

I feel like it might be on a Monday, as last year it was on the 15th. Well. I rather not know the exact date anyway.

I just got a confirmation email from the Financial Aid Office. Anyone else?

For reference, this is what it says:

Hello –

Thank you for your email. We will add this information to your file.

Sincerely,

Name

@meaa7130 For the W2s and tax info requested Dec 2? I still haven’t, but if they’re going back over the older stuff maybe one is coming?

So what’s the “hot rumor” for the date nowadays, 15th?, 16th?, 17th?

@CautiousOptimist Yes it was for those forms. They replied to the email I had previously sent.

This is like waiting for jury deliberations to come in…

I feel like the delay in announcing notification date is because the adcom has been fighting over the very last few cuts like a jury on the verge of deadlock because they can’t turn that one guilty vote juror to change their minds.

Is it REALLY that difficult to just give a notification date?

This is the message I get when I log in to the application tracking system:

“The checklist information is currently not available. We notified you via the email address you listed on the Common Application if your application is complete. Early action decisions will be available Mid-December.”

Any idea what this “checklist” is?

@rcotter the checklist was a literal checklist of items needed for the application. As long as you submitted everything required and received a confirmation email from the automated system then you don’t need to worry about it.

@meaa7130 I didn’t email 2014 Tax return forms (because I submitted mine back in November 1st) but I sent them an email anyways about a week ago asking if they have received all the forms and they replied today saying they did!

I almost forgot about the releasing dates!! I am an international applicant and never got an e-mail from Pton asking for my parents’ tax info. Is it just me, or well, did everyone else got an e-mail requesting the information? I had to ask the admissions if they got my October ACT score and they replied…

There was another international applicant here who didn’t get email from financial aid requesting tax forms. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I just called the UA office, they said decisions would be released mid-to end of next week :frowning:

@SlayerWard That’s around the same time Dartmouth’s releasing their results (on the 16th)

@SlayerWard Yup, just called to confirm and they said mid to late next week and that we’d be getting an email prior to that

I’m also an international who has not received any email regarding tax forms and financial documents. So today my GC called the office and they said I need to fill out a non-filer statement on the princeton website, then have my parents signed. And that’s it for internationals,no other supporting forms required at this point. Also my GC asked the date of decision, and they indicated that it will be either 15th or 16th. I hope this helps.

@meaa7130 Congrats on the confirmation email! That’s great news.

When did you send your tax forms? Did you send them immediately on December 2, or later? Princeton still hasn’t confirmed my email yet. In fact, they haven’t even contacted my counselor or anyone else about my application. I don’t want to think too much, but things aren’t looking too good for me.

Yesterday was a rather depressing day at my school. My school is a rather big public institution (not a magnet though; my school only sends 2-3 kids to ivies every year, and many qualified people end up going to the nearby state school), and many of my friends applied to several of the ivies for early action, but not a single one got in. I’ll get to know the decisions of the UPenn and Stanford applicant tonight, but right now I’m almost certain I’ll get deferred. I don’t want to spend too much time here anymore, since I have to get my other RD applications done as soon as possible. :frowning:

Hopefully you receive good news next week! I don’t want to get your hopes too high, but going through all the information you’ve received, things are looking great for you. You’ll do great at Princeton if you’re accepted; you really deserve it!

Everyone make a prediction for when you think it’ll be released. Mine: 17th

I’m going to predict either the 16th or 17th.

I’m an international student (Canada) and they asked me for my parents tax forms December 2 and I sent them immediately. A little while ago they replied to the same email and confirmed they received everything.
