Only the really smart ones are here:).

I’ve noticed the same thing at my school with less people applying Princeton SCEA than HYS SCEA.

It would be so nice if very few people are applying to Princeton SCEA and more people can apply to Harvard, Yale, and/or Stanford…though I think that I’m probably just deluding myself. (lol)

submitted everything but supplement…need to answer short answer

maybe one other?

I don’t know anymore…I really get the feeling that the application process to any Ivy is nothing more than a crapshot. My grades and SAT are up there, and I’ve been told that my essays are excellent, but ECs…haven’t started non-profit company and/or won several gazillion dollars so I’m not sure.

It’s senior year. 'nough said.

To all of those who have submitted: have you been able to access the application tracker system on the Princeton admissions website?
And at my school, 6 kids are applying early Pton, 2 stanford, and 1 Harvard and 1 yale. So I think that numbers fluctuate from school to school

I just submitted everything. I’m feeling so jittery I can’t get anything done. Stuck watching TV series on my computer unproductively.

As far as I know, I’m the only one applying early. No one at my school has talked seriously about applying regular decision, even.

Unsure. Maybe Princeton will like my international background, maybe not. I wrote a good common app essay and have fairly competitive stats. A girl from my school a few years back got into Princeton, and I think she’s doing really well there. That said, I’m not legacy, URM, etc. I guess admission is possible but unlikely.

Senior year is alright. I’m doing really well in AP Calc, but my AP French teacher is trying to fail me. Dropped a lot of extracurricular commitments to work on college apps.

I’ve been using the Princeton Tracking System. It works just fine. You have to go to the website and sign up with your PIN number. The website may show that you’re missing things you know you’ve submitted. You just have to wait a couple of days. I kind of had a struggle trying to figure it out, too.

lol i’m procrastinating the final edit of my common essay. Just need to reword like three sentences so it’s like 99% done (knocks on wood). After that, my app will be complete and I may wait a day utnil the 31st in case a sudden wonderful idea pops up.

Have you submitted your application yet? almost

How many people are you applying from your school? Don’t know. I’m a highschool graduate

How do you feel? really want to play battlefield 3. Great though.

How’s senior year going? My gap year’s going great. 10-11 hours of sleep each night. No complaints :D

Good luck y’all

For those who have sent your SAT scores to Princeton:
Has Princeton acknowledged that it has received your scores?
The tracking app says I haven’t, even though I sent them two weeks ago.
Thanks!

Most people should not feel surprised to be rejected from a place like Princeton. In fact, I’d say that there are probably less than 50 people applying to Princeton in a year who should be surprised by being rejected, which includes children of tenured professors or donors - if they also have good stats.

Agree with bobtheboy. There was a legacy girl last year, 2390, 4.0 at top high school, 5s on 6 different aps, editor of school newspaper, and captain of lacrosse team who was waitlisted (then accepted).

@CeilingFanFly, I sent my SAT and ACT scores about 3 weeks ago, and when I logged into the application tracker today, it acknowledged them as being received. I submitted my application on the 27th and set up my application tracker today, if that information has any relevance.

Have any of you tried calling the admissions office to check on the status of your application. Sometimes the website delays in updating and right now it’s telling me that something hasn’t been received when it was sent out over a week ago. I’m thinking of calling tomorrow, but I don’t know if they’ll be able to check and let me know.

Thanks and good luck to all
I, like everyone else, am extremely nervous. My grades and scores are pretty tight, but nowadays that means next to nothing. 5 kids from my school are applying SCEA to Princeton. On average, Princeton only admits 1 or 2 from my school…it’s nerve-racking.

Hey guys, I submitted today but for some reason I can’t register for the application tracker. It continues to tell me that my e-mail and pin don’t match from my application.

Is this something that I just have to wait an hour or two before attempting? Or is there something wrong?

I’ve checked my e-mail and pin and they are both correct.

It might take 24-48 hours. Hang in there.

Does anyone know when the actual deadline is? Midnight on October 31 or November 1?

Thanks. I think I’m just antsy over the whole process.

@KameronSmith: It depends on the college. Usually it is 11:59 on November 1, in whatever time zone the college is in. However, it’s better to submit on October 31 by midafternoon, on the chance that I am wrong, and to give you time to fix technical errors if they happen to arise.

If four people are applying from the same high school, is it possible for only one kid to get admitted and the rest deferred? (assuming none are recruited athletes or desirable minorities)

I don’t see why not. It’s seems pretty common sense that students within a single high school would have different academics, extracurriculars, recommendations, and essays. All four could be admitted, or rejected as well - who knows? (lol)

It’s funny since nobody’s ever been accepted to Princeton from my school, except for a rumor from a teacher that there was a student who was admitted over ten years ago.

Help! So one of the teachers sending a letter of recommendation for me said that she would do it latest by tomorrow morning. It’s already written, just needs editing. Can she do this? Is the application due today at midnight or tomorrow at midnight?

The Common App will probably crash by tomorrow.
Do you wish to take those chances?

Assuming that you do not apply RD, that is.
