Yeah, I got my email at 5:41, so there are definitely more than three “groups.”

So I think the
5:39 got accepted (Just kidding)
Do you think it could be based on what time we signed up for the notification thing?

haha true. However, it sure is a fun endeavor.

5:36 - 3
5:38 - 2
5:39 - 2

Who knows.

Also, it’s officially the 14th… So we’re technically only a day away. :x

I’m heading off to bed.
Good luck to everyone else.

In regards to the email times (I got mine at 5:36 also) theory, the time that emails get received varies based on carrier as in gmail vs yahoo vs Verizon or something.

Good luck to you all and hope to see you at Princeton if we get in :)

I’m about to pee my pants with anticipation

haha, getting antsy with anticipation and decided to revive this account.
aaaaahhhhh less than 2 days!

I actually got it at 4:37 using my school’s webmail that redirected to my gmail. However, I’m on central time, so it was actually 5:37. Idk.

It’s definitely not the email carrier. My friend and I - same carrier (school’s webmail), different time. But I’m hedging my bets on it being reverse alphabetical order.

^hmm… interesting.

I am beginning to question my sanity…

Nothing to do with alphabetical order, because I know someone at the end of the alphabet who get it the same time I did, and I’m towards the beginning.

I got 5:38…

Crud, that looks like deferral.

Forgot to reply, 5:38 (2:38 PST)

aaaaaahhhh deferred
makes sense actually (i’d be quite happy with a deferral)
EDIT:
I just realized. Technically if we assume that there is a correlation between lag time and the size of the group, then shouldn’t anyone who got their email at 5:38 be in the smallest group, likely the admit group? :DDD
sorry my imagination is running wild

No… There are more than 3 times.

In this post alone, there have been 5 times and five categories of decisions do not exist. Maybe it is based on when you submitted your application? As in when your email address was processed…

I don’t think that’s right because a kid from my school sent his application in the same time I did, and got a different time for his email. That being said I think it’s likely random, not correlated with admissions results. Although if it were I’d have to say that would be pretty funny

Well, there’s one easy way to test this theory: post the time of your notification in the decisions thread. So we can know for RD, etc.

I got mine at 5:36 !

I got mine at 5:38. I’m guessing that this probably means nothing haha, but it’s a fun theory.

Haha 5:38 for me too. (4:38 CST). Doubt there’s any relation, but it’s a fun (and scary) theory.

5:42…Hotmail…
