Princeton vs. Stanford ERA?

I'm deciding whether to apply to Princeton or Stanford for restricted early
action. I've heard conflicting things about Stanford's REA, like "you
would have gotten in RD if you got in REA" so it would be a waste to
apply REA. However, since I'm from the east coast, I was thinking that
it would be beneficial to show interest and commitment applying REA to Stanford because most east coast students would be applying to ivies as their first choices.

On the other hand, I think my chances for Princeton are better REA (about 20% compared to about 7% RD). In
addition, Stanford's REA admissions compared to RD is about 13% to about 6%, which makes me think that applying to Princeton REA makes more
sense even though Stanford would be my first preference.

Should I apply REA to Stanford (show interest, 13% acceptance, first
choice) and sacrifice my chances for Princeton (7% RD...)? Or apply to
Princeton REA (20% acceptance) and sacrifice my chances for Stanford (6% RD)?

Thanks!

With both Stanford and Princeton’s tiny admit rates, there is NO advantage in trying to game either by which to choose REA. Your decision should solely be based on which one you’d most prefer to have an admit decision in December. The only caveat would be if you’re a legacy at either or if you’re a recruited athlete.

“Interest” matters zero to Stanford and Princeton.

This sounds like HS … I like you a lot, please like me back.
Stanford and Princeton are like the Prom Queens, they know/ think everyone likes them, that is a given.
