For incoming freshman, do you recommend bringing a printer? Or, are there sufficient computer labs around?

It is a lot more convenient to bring you own but in the case you don’t, Leavey/SAL/WPH are more than sufficient for printing. You can also talk to your roommate and decide who wants to bring one and the other person can supply the ink/paper since you don’t really need 2 in a room.

^^^That is correct, good to have one in room for any urgent late night printing. With so much done digitally, low end HP would be fine - they are about $99 - $120 at Costco. Don’t want giant printer but mine are really glad they have one. Will add - I thought they had them at USC bookstore, they do sell computers pretty competitively priced, but I don’t see printers on their website, but thought I saw them in there in the fall (you can call them if interested) or can hit up Costco or wherever in LA when moving in so you don’t have to carry it if flying in. Or have it shipped after you get there. Love Amazon Prime for college students.

One note on computers sold by USC bookstore, they do offer good pricing, for example, it is as low as you can get anywhere on a mac (was actually $100 less than Apple store with both offering student discount), but they don’t do data transfer or set up like an Apple store would. They send it out for that, which most students don’t have time for. But they have a lot of the cables and stuff you will forget too.

We sent a printer with D, she prefers to edit on paper…it’s a Brother.

By the way, we were about to get the USC price on a MAC for D at the local Apple store, and they did the data transfer. I think she had to show her ID card.
