Any priors?

LUDA,
Are you prior? I just got my orders and my report date is 23 June to the academy. Is this same for you?

no, I have to report on June 27th

yes, I am a prior. I also just graduated NAPS.. we all report on June 27th before 2000

Is there a shuttle to get us on campus that day?

yes, there is a shuttle from the airport to base.

I have a question for the prior enlisted. You already went to Great Lakes, and some of you have even also gone to NAPS. Thats at least one, possibly two periods of bootcamp/indoc. How do you feel about having to go through it again and do plebe summer? Are you worried at all, or are you just kind of like whatever? You will probably be looked up too by the highschoolers. What are your thoughts?

Well yea.. I've been through boot camp and Indoc at NAPS. The training just gets kinda annoying after a while. I've kinda just learned to block people out. The screaming doesnt get to me at all.. The detailers can scream all they want but as long as I know that they cant hit me.. it doesnt really matter.. After a while, they lose their voices and it becomes really funny. Training is always good though... it makes you a lot strong...
After plebe summer... you'll realize how funny everything was and how scared you were.. You'll back and laugh about it.. You'll realize how much you've changed and somehow grew. You'll learn a lot and you'll be proud that you did.

I just wanted to ask any and all priors who are either in NAPS, USNA, or trying to be admited to either, why they went enlisted after high school and didn't go to college? Was it because of money or weak grades or just a lack of interest then?

Some people (like my stupid self) did go to college out of high school. I had no choice but to enlist in the Marines because I failed out of college.
