hi...i was just wondering if mit does ALL regular mailing.

All regular mailing except for non-domestic mail for which they use DHL courier services.

http://postcalc.usps.gov/ , select 'envelope', 02139 as the origin zip code, and yours as the destination. tells you how many shipment days it will take for your decision to reach your house =).

but which one is it?
express, priority?

Neither. It would be sent as First Class Mail, and I don't think the USPS website gives any delivery commitment or estimate for First Class items.

(Edit: the EA acceptances were sent First Class, not Priority mail, at about 1/3 the cost. Still got to CA on Monday.)

i think priority because MIT's not going to pay $18 an applicant so they can find out a day earlier.

then again i might be wrong

If i don't get the decision on Monday, I really don't know what to do. so worked up over this, i might not sleep the entire night

EA letters were sent first class on Friday, December 10th. Boston area folks got the letters the next day (Saturday). Most of the folks on the east coast and some more urban areas on the west coast got their letters Monday. I think the rest of the domestic folks had theirs by Tuesday (me included).

Acceptance letters are sent first class. There is no express or priority mail for domestic folks.

you have to lower the weight, i put in .5 ounces and it gave the first class mail option... 3 days for DeLand, FL

oop, good call timrades! i checked out with my info and changing the weight didn't do anything (im assuming that's for the postage fee). it could very well affect delivery time over longer distance...

:)
