Hi guys! I wanted to get some opinions about applying priority status. I got an offer from a school to apply priority status which means I won’t have to pay any money to apply and I automatically get considered for scholarships and I will most likely get a good amount of money from the school. This all sounds pretty awesome BUT the school that invited me to apply priority status is one that I’m not that interested in going to. It’s a very small school that I know I could accel in but I don’t know if I would actually go there. However the ability to apply without having to pay any money is a very lucrative idea and I can’t lose anything by applying. They also have rolling admission starting November first so it’s a chance to be accepted to a college pretty early. So my question is, should I apply to this school even though I’m not sure if I would want to go there?
Lots of people get those emails. Remember you still have to pay to send test scores, and if they have any supplements, that may take up your time. Unless you like the school, there is no point in applying.
^^^Agree. Many schools send applications like those out to many students. You need to decide if that particular school is worth your time to apply to. If it is a school you would consider then it seems worthwhile.
don’t apply to schools you wouldn’t go to. Who knows what your lineup of acceptances and costs will look like next spring, and you may end up being “encouraged” to take an offer you didn’t want at all.
