I'm trying to decide between University Towers and The Castilian...does anybody know about the dynamics in each, pros and cons or whatnot?

Towers pros- bigger rooms, better food, each room comes with a suite, social
Towers cons-further away, loud (lots of greeks live there, therefore a lot of partying), i think a bit more expensive.

Castillian pros- right across the street from campus, social
Castillain cons- smaller rooms, worse food, loud as well.

If you are planning on going greek, i think you will like the atmosphere at either one. if you are not going greek and you dislike the greek culture, i would choose castillian. towers rooms are a definite plus...they are HUGE and the suite is nice....

I think you're wrong, because castillian's pretty big with frats and sororities. and another plus of castillian is the cleaning service.

yea, castillian is also big with greeks...that's why i said that if you are into the greek culture, you'll be fine at either one...but towers, statistically, has more of it's residents affiliated with greek life. towers also has cleaning service.

what's the benefits of a greek society? don't they party a lot more?

well yeah. they party. but most fraternities and sororities do some sort of community service projects over the course of the year, it's good stuff. you get to meet new people and make good friendships and form ties that will last after college.

how would you characterize 'greek culture'?
