Private Engineering Uni

1840 Sat 520 CR 680 M and 640
I’m an International student
My high school grades are A A B (A level)
Class rank I think 15-20%

So far, I only have Marquette and Dayton
I need a few more names, emphasis on financial aid.
Location: Midwest+Pennsylvania+Virginia

Relatively few American universities provide significant financial aid to international students. Some do, most do not.

How much can you afford net of financial aid and scholarships? Note that many US schools do not offer their need-based financial aid and scholarships to international students.

You may want to check if the scholarships at this school (DC is next to Virginia) are still available to international students:

I can pay around 30k a year. I looked and @ucbalumnus I looked into Howard University and I don’t wanna go there since 90% of its students are black (I’m black btw, no racism lol I just want some diversity). I also don’t wanna live in DC anyways. Do you think I can use uni of cincinnati as a safety? It’s not private, I know but I can’t find any private schools. Been searching for weeks…

Iowa State, Purdue & MN have good engineering programs. FinAid is all different, but Google is your friend, and I think you can get close to $30k per year at all of them. Good Luck!

S Dakota School of Mines, various SUNYs, would fit in your budget.

Here is an engineering school search engine

http://www.findengineeringschools.org/Search/search_home.htm

What kind of engineering?

U of Rochester - NY
Worcester Polytechnic Institute - MA
Saint Louis University
U of Minnesota-Twin Cities
Ohio University
South Dakota School of Mines & Technology
Iowa State University
Kansas State University

Look for places that offer your major here: http://main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx

If your family can afford USD 30k each year, then you need to look for some place where your tuition and fees would be about USD 15k to USD 20k so that you have money left over for books, housing, meals, health insurance, travel, personal expenses, etc.

I like this search engine for looking for places by major and by cost. Click on “more search options” on the left to search by maximum tuition and fees. Choose “other” from the list of states to get out-of-state costs.

Under $30,000 per year would be South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

If you’re willing to compromise for a public university, two SUNY schools,
University at Buffalo
and Binghamton University (“the public ivy”),
might be good choices. Both have great engineering programs and tuition is just under $20,000 for non in state residents.

Good Luck!

There are no public Ivy school. Binghamton is a large public university. There is nothing private-like about it. Think about your NY high school and imagine grade 13. There is nothing anything Ivy-League like about Binghamton.
