Private scholarships anyone... ?

I'm going to be applying for UT-D and UT-Arlington soon enough and my only hope for affording fees & tuition is by obtaining one of their big scholarships. These scholarships I don't have to apply to. Anyone admitted is simply eligible as long as he/she has good stats.

The thing is I need at least around $3000 dollars to cover the in-state approximate $8000 tuition for UT-Arlington and at least $5000 dollars to cover the in-state approximate $10000 for UT-D.

I'm hoping for a SAT score above 1800, but I'm not very sure about getting above 1900. Results are coming out 21st of December! My GPA is around 3.7.

Many students have higher stats and so it is not guaranteed that I get the merit scholarship I want from the university. I need a PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP. Please let me know of any good ones! (I'm a US citizen but I live abroad, so nothing national please)

FAFSA won't do me any good, by the way.

Register on Fastweb.com and look through the scholarships that that site recommends based upon your stats and demographics.

Private scholarships are often only for freshman year, so what are you going to do for soph, jr, and sr years?

If you live abroad, how do you get instate rates for Texas schools?

how much will your parents contribute each year?

Gadad I checked fastweb.com out long ago and it’s only for residents of the U.S.

mom2collegekids not all private scholarships are only for freshman year, and even so, an extra $1000 wouldn’t hurt now would it?
I can get instate tuition if I’m awarded a scholarship (FROM THE UNIVERSITY ITSELF) that is $1000 or more.

My dad will not pay more than $10000 (tuition + living expenses + room etc.)
