I'm a sophomore in high school right now, and I was wondering if it is worth it to go to a private school for my last two years of high school. My public school now is really great but I feel like a private school would help me get into a better college. I was looking at

I highly doubt I can get into Andover, but these were just schools I could go for only 2 years of high school. Is it worth it? And also can you rate these schools from hardest/easiest and also from best/worst? I'm just really unsure if I want to transfer to a different school for the hardest year of high school. Thanks!

Going to a private school may give you a better education, and may put you among peers whose interests and motivations are more aligned with yours, but it won’t necessarily get you into a better college. I know that Concord only admits about 2 juniors a year, out of perhaps 20 applicants, so it’s definitely the hardest year to enter (other than senior year, where they don’t admit any). It’s based on how many students left during or after sophomore year, so some years it will be zero. Not sure about the other schools. If your primary goal is going to the best college you can, your time may be better spent beefing up your grades and ECs, and prepping for the SATs. If you have other reasons for considering private school, then it might be worth it.

I think it’s worth it, which is why I’m doing it next year!
But, aren’t you too late to apply to any of these schools with a decent chance of admission?
