Private science colleges?

I am looking to apply to private colleges with good science/research facilities (I'm interested in pre-med). An honors program (and perhaps a study abroad program) would be great! My guidance counselor recommended that I shoot for schools where I would be a top student at (so I am looking for schools with lower, average ACT scores and student GPA's than I have) so as to get financial aid and scholarships. Here are the necessary facts about my academics:
ACT Score: 30 (although I just retook it and think I got a better score. Will pretend that it will remain at 30 for now)
Unweighted GPA average throughout high school: 3.9-4.0
Weighted GPA was usually around 4.4-4.5
Will have taken 7 AP classes by the end of this year. Past 4 have all been 4's and 5's, except chemistry, which was a 3.
In a program exactly like IB.
Extracurricularly, I've volunteered quite a bit in two local hospitals and the local Humane Society. Officer in HOSA for 2 years and in charge of the blood drives at my school this year.

I'm really interested in schools in the upper south (NC, Virginia) as well as middle-states and northeast! Any input is appreciated- as I am narrowing down my list, I am running out of options and am wondering if I am overlooking any fabulous schools... Thanks for any and all advice!

I meant to add that I want to be in or near a medium/large/big city. A nearby hospital to work in (I will be an EKG Tech at the end of this year) is a necessity!

Any suggestions anyone?

A little further southwest than your target area, but Rhodes has a good reputation for pre-med, it’s in a large city, there is an entire medical center with about 5-6 hospitals five minutes away, and there are formal partnerships with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Volunteerism is something that’s emphasized here, and your grades would easily put you in the upper half of the student body.

Would the University of Richmond fit your criteria?

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look into both. Any other schools I may be overlooking?

It is slightly south of your geographic target range but Furman University in South Carolina has an outstanding reputation for their pre med track and science facilities. They are also one of the top LAC’s in offering internships and research opportunities to their students. My D chose Furman specifically for these research and internship opportunities
