It seems like GW has become quite competitive. Is there too much partying and not stress on academics? I thought it was suppose to be quite balanced.

Meadesport:
Academics are top at GW. Courses are harder than in other universitites. Writing is a parto of just about any course. Even science courses involve lots of writing.
The students just find time to have a great time, they are in DC, not just a small college town. My friend is taking 15 credits in there, the equivalent of 19 anywhere else, and still likes to go out.
You will not regret the experience at GW

Thanks Multitasker. I got nervous because on person wrote that 7% of the students are just into partying and only 30% were bright. Although I like to have a good time, I really want a good school academially. Is GW better than Villanova, Gettysburg and Delaware Honors. I ruled at NYU because it is too close to home. I do love DC

No problem, Meadesport.
You can't go wrong with any of the universities you have mentioned, but I think GW will give you not only great education but a terrific setting to explore interships, and the professors are superaccessible.
Partying is a portion of being at any college, maybe you may want to consider anything but Thurston Hall, since 1000 freshmen live there and there is a lot more noise, although even the "partiers" are good students. You can't be a bad student there, especially if you are in a scholarship, where your grades are vital. Believe it or not, a good percentage of kids there are i n scholarships, or grants.
I think is time to remove the reputation for partying and not studying from Gdubs, is a great school, and not just for rich kids.
Good luck in your decision.
