Why GW?

For those of you planning or considering to enroll at GW, why GW?

lol i think i did this for the BC thread.

-It has alot places to intern and if you love politics, it the best place because it's DC.

i was about to say....i just read this in the bc thread.

yea. From the RDs I've heard back from, those two are the ones that accepted me and I'm weighing which one to go

I love DC and I'm in the BA/JD program.

You go to GW because it is a good school but mostly you go to GW for DC. The district is an amazing place and GW's close proximity to the White House and many other institutions is one, if not the major, draw for most students. I am sitting in my dorm room right now and I am a block and a half from the Red Cross Head Quaters, the IMF, and the World Bank; three blocks from the state departments; four blocks from the white house; and six blocks or so from the now infamous Watergate Hotel.

GWU is a good school but if it were not for its location many students would not go here. If you are trying to compare GW to another school first compare academics, if they are relatively close then look at location. I chose GW because of the opportunities that being in DC, and especially Foggy Bottom, gives me as a student of International Affairs.

Hope that helps.

I chose GW because of its location, but I also noticed that GW students were really motivated and involved. We truly subscribe to the word hard, play hard mentality.

Being in DC does offer tons of opportunities for academics, internships, and fun. Take advantage of it all.

I've noticed that the average GW student is a motivated student. There's so much in DC, so students are trying to take advantage of it all. If you're the type of student that likes getting involved, you'll thrive at GW.
