PRO/CONS at UCSB?

anyone care to share?

I hear the only competitive thing they do is drink....depending on your personality, that could be a pro or con.

You'll have fun at UCSB. If you like to party there's IV on Thurs to Sat. If you liek the beach you're within 2 mins walk from it. If you want to get straight A's you really have to work for it. If you just want to pass you can just pull an all nighter the night before the exam and get a D. It's really up to you. There are lots of stuff to do but can you handle them all? I know some students who were kicked out on their freshman year because they didn't prioritize their studies. For parties, you'll be disappointed if you think UCSB parties are better than UT-Austin. UCSB is considered a party school mainly because it is compared to all UC campuses. SDSU is by far a party school than UCSB but it's not in the ranking because UCSB is more on the news than SDSU.

All schools have beer sex and drugs. Theres nothing unique about any combination of the aforementioned.

And why are East coast schools not party schools? 30F in the winter, else baystreet in Boston would be isla vista of the east.

East coast schools not party schools? Now that is funny. Who have you been talking to? To the poster above SDSU is not a part of the UC system.

My friend interned at Washington DC last year. She said they put UCSB parties to shame.

con : 30% of the student body has some sort of std =/

PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME I AM WRONG. SERIOUSLY. I WANT TO COME HERE

That's an ubran myth, it's been debunked, I forget the website. As is the one about UCSB consuming 1% of the US alcohol...haha.

wow thank you. any information on how good the business program is here?

im mos def comming here if:

ucla appeal doesnt work
berkley gives me the finger
USC gives me the finger

if berkley and usc fall through then...

if berkley appeal falls through
if usc appeal falls through

if all of the above occurs... im gonna be at ucsb. woo. gunchos or somethin....

man i odnt know what you have but thats likely going to happen, actually i dont know about usc, convential sense says if you got rejected from ucla you'll be rejected from ucB..but we know how it is with the UCs and common sense, not much there!

yea.. thats where your wrong a lot of applicants who get rejected from ucla ARE accepted into cal, vice versa. usc looks at all 4 years and look at you more of a whole instead of numbers in a chart.

do you think the UCs check with each other on which students got in where so that they dont accept the same students?

They don't do that.

I was admitted by UCSB, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSC and got turned down by UCLA. In my experience I doubt they cross check.
