ProBa Russian Language School in St. Petersburg summer 2018, 7 weeks, advanced Russian

Just posting this for anyone who comes along in the future looking for Russian language study abroad options. My daughter, after having done 2nd yr Russian in 8 weeks at Melikian Critical Language Institute at ASU, went over to St. Petersburg to study at a small private language school called ProBa. She was pleased with the experience. The classes were small, the teacher was very good (and provided an interesting look into the mindset of someone who had grown up in the Soviet era). The school was located in an excellent and safe part of the city, near the Anichkov Bridge. They arranged a homestay with a grandmotherly type woman in a nearby location - which was also very interesting! It was a large collective apartment in a grand old mid-19th century building, in which my daughter had a private room. Her hostess provided meals, conversation, guidance. The price was reasonable, and it is possible to book sessions by the week, so that you can fit in a session whenever it is convenient. The only downside, I think, is that it would be challenging to get college credit for it - although with some work with one’s study abroad office, it might be possible. She would recommend it.
