I have submitted everything for ED to NYU by Oct 30. However, there is still a yellow square beside NYU Supplement (For CommonAppm yellow square means "started but not completed"). There is also the word "downloaded" sitting right beside the Supplement file so I suppose that NYU has downloaded my Supplement already,,,

So what does the yellow square mean? o.O Does the square appear on your application?

(P.S. I checked the Supplement for more than six times so it should be completed).

Thanks :-)

This question has been asked many time, and you should have looked it up before you asked.

anyway, this is just a glitch in the commonapp system. The only thing that matters is what it says to the right of the thing you’ve submitted. if it says downloaded, then that means the university that component of your app, and you have nothing to worry about.

Jessica, I’m sure you’re fine. The Common App would not have allowed you to submit the application to NYU if everything was not completed. You would have gotten an error message that something needed to be filled in. Have you checked under the “School Forms” documents when your in NYU tab, perhaps NYU has not gotten around to downloading your teacher recommendations yet hence the yellow square.

Yesterday (when the yellor square was still there) CommonApp stated that all files have been downloaded. And somehow today the yellow square has magically turned into a green triangle.

thanks to both of you! Also, sorry for not searching for similar posts first. I thought it was a rare problem. My bad.
