I initially planned to submit my application via the commonapp+nyu supplement, but later decided to do the nyu app instead. Anyway, I submitted the nyu app and later got an email saying "tahnk you for applying, nyu has received your application." However, I also got an email saying "you have yet to submit the nyu supplement, you need to do so for nyu to be able to view your app."

so anyway, it sounds liek nyu got my nyu application and that everything's fine, but the "you need to submit the supplement" email worries me a little bit...

It sounds like they may have got the common app. Is it possible you accidentally submitted the common app. to them when submitting other apps? Was your NYU application on line or paper? If you refer to the Application do's and don'ts on the website it says you have to submit the common app. supplement for them view the application. I think you should call them ASAP - to clarify things.

While NYU may seem as though they are not very sympathetic, if you explain what happened, remaining calm and rational, I'm sure they will understand. The messages you received are probably just a default because of the computer system, but you need to make sure that NYU understands that your application file is complete.
