Hi! I know the importance of spanish to William and Mary or any foreign language. I decided to not take spanish 6 this year. As you can tell, I took up to 5 years. Instead, I took an extra AP science that I was interested in taking. I'm taking 5 ap classes this year (2 sciences, one history, one math, one english) and yearbook 4. Will it hurt my chances that I didn't take spanish 6 my senior year???? I'm just very curious! Thanks!

Not taking Spanish 6 won’t hurt you- they want fluency up through the fourth year to graduate from W&M- not to get in. They look for a schedule of advanced courses- sounds like you have it- but if you are a senior, the answer will be in your hands in a few weeks either way. Assume you are just having waiting jitters.

@tjmom is correct. If you’ve taken four or more years you’ve certainly challenged yourself in foreign language and it sounds like you have a rigorous schedule overall. Not taking Spanish 6 won’t negatively impact your application.

Thanks you so much!
