This is the second time this has happened since move-in, so I want to ask if anyone has any suggestions. We bought some things for our son and they were supposed to be delivered to his dorm. For two different items, no one working for USC was at the dorm when the delivery trucks showed up to pick up the items and hold them for my son. Is there anyone my son can complain about this? How is pick up of delivery packages handled? My son needs the item which was supposedly delivered this morning but my son said is not there. He needs it for class tomorrow morning.

Apparently, there was a lot of mail due to Labor Day week-end and it is being sorted out. More time is needed to get everyone's mail to them.

if you send packages usps, they go through usc's mail routing system, but if you use another carrier such as ups, fedex, dhl, etc, the items are delivered directly to the dorm. this will speed up delivery by at least a day.

My son just spent an hour and a half at the post office, trying to retrieve a package. He said there were many USC kids in line, and by the time he got to the counter the clerk refused to even look for his package - the blanket response was that they were being delivered. Turns out she was right - he returned to his dorm and found it had been delivered after he left the building. I gave him the bad advice to visit the P.O., because the USPS website said they left a delivery notice and Friday, and the people at the service desk in the dorm had no record of this. This is one case where having the website tracking just made matters worse - it would have been better to just wait for the package.

What concerns me is my son receiving a notice that the package was delivered, no one was there at his dorm to receive the package before Labor Day. The tracking number said it was at the Los Angeles post office, USC zip code, but my son did not know which post office because there was no specific address. I called Newegg and the rep said it was delivered to my son's dorm yesterday at 10:30 AM. The dorm apparently was swamped with packages due to Labor Day and it took time to sort the mail. It bothers me that there was a notice that the package was at the post office when in fact, the package was at the dorm. I don't know how to correct the wrong communication coming from the delivery service. I just hope that all future mail/packages are going to be delivered to the dorm and not to the post office.
