There seems to be a big problem for the Oct SAT I writing score, which I received today. Basically, I scored a -4 on multiple choice and a 12 on essay. So what's my raw score for multiple choice?? it's 80-4-0.25x4=75!!! but my earlier reports (which was not the full report) said that my raw score was 69/80. So I ended up with a 740 on my writing, which should've been higher if my raw score were calculated correctly...
Did any of you have the same problem??

The 69 you got is a curved score, not raw score, I think. Two years ago, my D made 2 mistakes, her score was 76/80 (her raw score would be 78/80).

oh okay...I still think -4 12 essay for 740 is too brutal

i had -4 and 11 essay and i got a 720

I thought the curve this time was evil. I got -2 and 10 essay and a 760. In January, I made a 790 with the same exact scores. :/

I got -4, 1 omit and an 8 essay and got a 660 :/

the writing was HARSH
i missed two (no omit); it put me at 76 MC Score
and i had a 12 Essay

and i got 790

i thought usually -2 and 12 was 800?

well i skipped 1 and missed 1 and got a 12 essay and got an 800 in October

Hoping November's Writing has better curve. = /

i think as people get better more accustomed to the existence of the writing section, the curve gets harder and harder
wasn't there a time when -3 and 11 was 800? thats obvs never gonna happen in the future cuz people have figured out how to get 5 and 6 essays no matter how little substance their essays have and MC can be mastered just through repeated practice

Yeah I missed one MC, didn't omit any
got a 10 essay
and got 790. (not complaining though!)

But I know people in previous years have missed 3 or so MC with a 10 essay and got 800.

Same here, Smile614. Kinda ****ed...
