Uh... I'm putting off working on a paper and my physics homework right now. Do you guys ever feel horrible for putting stuff off but do it anyways? Jeeze, sometimes I feel like it's an addiction or something...

Depends on how important it is, I have a Biology paper due friday, but I kept thinking I should do it today. Sometimes you just have to say, "**** it, I'm going to bed."

im a second semester senior...putting off is rare and just totally not doing it is more common

I'm the exact opposite. I always put stuff off, but I ALWAYS get it done and do a good job. It just means a lot of all nighters for me. It's funny, but I'm almost offended when people I know brag about how they've gotten a jump start on this or that. Although it is really validating to still get better grades, when you did it the night before...

I'm slowly overcoming my procrastination habit.

Just hang a poster of your dream school in front of your computer or study desk, and any time you feel like dozing off.. Well there it is.

Ha, that's a pretty good idea. Problem is, I've only narrowed it down to a handful of dream schools.

bleh, I'm such a stresscase that when I'm not doing something, I feel like I'm procrastinating. Like, I know april will be hellish so I feel bad that I haven't done all my history chapters and term paper stuff due at the end of april...even though it's only like my 5th day of break? And it's Easter?

I actually just finished something that took literally 1 hour, after I worried and stressed about it for at least 30+ minutes and worried for like 5 hours when I was watching two movies.

Yup, that's the story of my life. The paper I'm working on is due on Tuesday, or rather my newest draft is due to my mentor on Tuesday. I'm freaking out and I'm not even being graded. It's just I really don't want to dissapoint my mentor with little progress (despite actually being ahead of our schedual). He's one of those teachers everyone admires so much they all want to impress him. Physics is another story...the homework for two chapters and a take home test due Tuesday. Yikes. By far my hardest class...

Procrastination is kind of a way of life for second semester seniors. Why would we bother to do better than a B for boring classes once we've been accepted?

Huge autobiography for AP lit due within a month - up to 1/4 of the semester grade. Have I started? Maybe... >.>

I'm afraid I already have senioritis. And I'm only a junior...

galestorm - It's ok, I had senioritis last year, too. Lost of people do, because you see the Seniors getting ready to graduate and it's like, "I really have to spend another year doing this?! Augh!" But I actually got over it by this year (though it reappeared once we got within a month of college decisions, whoops), so who knows? Maybe you will too.

Right now my attitude is more like, "just get it done, no point in whining about it," though I do still procrastinate.

I'm the "organized procrastinator" type. I always procrastinate, but I also always do the best job possible. I'm totally procrastinating on my History IA right now.

im so ready to graduate
i dont care about school anymore
i just wanna be in college already instead of dealing wtih the stupid crap in high school

I'm unfortunately procrastinating as I type this...

I procrastinate doing my work, though I first spend like two hours worrying about it -then not doing it.

FINALLY, I get around to do it. I always feel guilty when I don't end up doing it. I usually do a pretty good job, too.

This type of work ethic can't be good. :/

Good to see I'm not the only one out there--I'm kinda like galestorm...But these dayz I've been putting too much stuff away, and its all building up...I so hope I can focus and get working.....I love the feeling when Im done with all the work...

hopefully that will be me in about... an hour and half, i hope?

It's sometimes related to being a perfectionist. If you procrastinate, and you don't do too well, you can always say it was because you ran out of time.

For myself, I like to have lots and lots of time and just focus on that one thing. I like to immerse myself. So when I procrastinate, I keep that in mind. I once studied 50 hours for a test, and I procrastinated before starting, which meant I started to read the textbook and my class notes for the first time four days before the test. I worked on that one subject 12 hours a day for 4 days. I wanted that A pretty badly, but wasn't willing to do it piecemeal, as in doing homework every night. I just immersed myself at the last moment, which was 4 days before the test.
Everyone has to find their own style of procrastinating that doesn't make them crazy and that they can still do well even if they waited to get the work done. I just found that I could procrastinate up until 4 days before the due date, and then I needed to really get going and really get immersed.

Procrastination is my middle name.

I've procrastinated a lot more this year (Senior year). Now, because it's second semester, I just want to get the last few months of high school finished, so I can finally focus on resting before college.

I don't really feel bad... I usually know what it means for me should I wait until the last minute.
