Professor Hamilton or Wolpert

Has anyone had experience with either one of these professors? They are the only ones teaching MATH140 next semester, and the reviews seem to be extremely mixed for both of them. I had 140 with Denny Gulick this semester, but that didn't work out so I dropped the class.

DD’s have had good luck looking at ourumd.com ratings. When D2 was signing up for Math 140, D Gulick seemed to be the best option (but she opted not to take 140 at all…not a math person). From what I see on that,Wolpert only has 3 reviews but they are all good. Most of the reviews for Hamilton are for the higher Math classes, but they are mixed. The distribution of grades seems pretty similar for both of them. Good luck!

Thanks, I usually look through myumd first as well (and ratemyprofessor if needed). That was actually the reason why I chose D. Gulick before the semester started, but after going through it(the class) I realized that for some classes it’s usually the top students or the students who had a bad experience that go out of their way to leave a review. I’m not exactly the strongest Math student which makes the decision a bit harder. I’ll definitely keep in mind what you said. I’m a freshman so if it doesn’t work out I can always change my major to something less math intensive (I’m currently computer science).
