Hi guys. Thanks in advance for any advice you have! I've been emailing professors at local colleges and expressing interest in helping them with their research. One was working on a vaccine for the pneumonic plague! However, that professor, along with many others, did not reply...
I don't quite know what to do. Do I keep emailing the same professors, email new ones, or hope someone responds? Could it be in their spam folder or something?
Also, if someone responds and allows me to help, what if I don't have enough knowledge to help? I haven't been emailing professors doing things that exceed things that I have even the most basic of understanding in, even if it seems interesting. Is that a mistake?
Also, I'd be happy filing papers, fetching coffee, or reading articles. I'd love hands on things, but I know that's a mite unreasonable :)
Also, in a perfect world, I'd conduct my own research on blood clotting. I would love to further that, but again, I'm unsure how. I feel guilty because I feel like I'm spamming these professors :)
So basically, I'd like to do some sort of bio or chem research, but am unsure how to initiate this. Help please?

Hi guys, I’m struggling with this as well. I’ve been emailing professors, but I’m afraid I am not doing it right. If anyone would be able to PM me an example of an email that worked (you can take out any important info) that would be much appreciated!
