What do I do for the questions that say "Enter the total amount you will earn in wages, salaries, tips, etc. during the summer of 2007. (3 months)" and "Enter the total amount you will earn in wages, salaries, tips, etc. during the 2007-2008 school year. (9 months)". Am I just supposed to estimate how much money I will make during this time? Like, if I expect to have a job paying say, $6/hr, and expect to work say, 20hrs a week, do I just calculate this and enter that amount?

Yes. Estimate.

Couldnt you cheat around this?

Just put 0 because at the moment filing you were thinking of not working over the summer. Not illegal in the sense they ask it.

Estimate low, keep the total under 3K.

uh o, a little late. I submitted it yesterday. I puy like 4600 for the 9 month period and about 1600 for the 3 month period. Will this hurt me and get me less aid?

Maybe a little-- depends on the school. You'll be responsible for a minimum freshman contribution of $1,550, with no income protection allowance. That translates to about $3,300 in student income. If a school takes your estimate seriously, they may assess 50% of your projected income above $3,300 and add it to your minimum $1550 contribution (thereby reducing your potential aid by that amount).

Or they might not.

But since it's just an estimate, why take chances? Estimate low.
