Project Based Engineering

My daughter who is currently a junior in high school is currently interested in pursuing a degree in engineering(undecided as to what type of engineering). She would like to attend a university that has more of a bent towards project based engineering(hands-on), rather than a program that is more classroom centered. We live in Texas, she is willing to consider universities outside of the state. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Most lower level courses have lectures and labs. There upper level courses will focus on advanced labs and project work. UT Austin in state is a decent choice and it will save a lot of money. If you feel like going out of state, I suppose I could recommend the usual choices: Stanford, CalTech, MIT, JHU, Duke, Darmouth, Princeton, CMU.

I’ve heard that UT Austin and Texas A&M are very good schools.
