Does anybody feel like the majority of people in your school are way too promiscuous? I mean, like, when you see a girl who is known for, ahem, "going out" with a different guy each week, doesn't that just sicken you?

Sorry, I don't know the point of this thread; feel free to discuss anything somewhat relevant :P

Nah, it doesn't sicken me. I find it humorous and pitiful. I mean, it's really sad for the people who HAVE to be together someone at all times. It's sad to be that dependent on others. (to me)

I don't really care. If that's what gives them satisfaction and meaning, so what? I don't agree with their choice but neither do I disagree, yet if that's what they want to do kudos for going after that and not being obstructed by contrary opinions and sentiments.

Yawn - I do not think that this is a matter of being a "judgmental prick." If someone disagreed and started preaching to these people that it's wrong and shoving it their faces, that would be inappropriate. But individuals are allowed to have their own opinions about the behavior of others and choose not to do it themselves. That should not be considered "judgmental," but rather "opinionated."

And I do not think that teenagers in high school are mature enough to have sex. Many people have way too much sex and lose the meaningful side to the act, and some people get WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too attached to the person they are having sex with, and end up getting torn to shreds in the end. Sad, but true.

I do not think I'm judgmental, as I accept the actions of those people who decide to have multiple sexual relations in high school. I may not condone it or agree to it, but it's their choice and they will learn what they can from the experience. But I think the risks outweigh the pleasure by a lot. Pregnancy, STD's, etc. Not fun in high school.

I've had a few times where I get a bit sore after busy weekends with my girlfriend, but a day or two off and I'm pretty good at finding the meaningful part again.

Being judgmental means you are judging them. If you are sickened by someone's values, you're making a judgment. It's as simple as that.

In the past, individuals would start having sex as soon as they were sexually mature (which makes sense from a biological perspective).

I'm quite sure non-human animals engage in sex all the time without contemplating the "meaningfulness" of it. Sexual intercourse is a biological process. If you attribute to it a set of values, preconceived notions, and ethical implications, that's your choice. But to then project your personal set of beliefs onto the lifestyles of others, and consequently impose judgments on them, is to err by default of relativity.

You may think that premarital sex is absolutely, undeniably wrong, but consider how many of the following activities either you or someone you love has done:

eat pork?

eat beef?

use contraception?

divorce?

expose arms or legs as a female?

smoke?

drink alcohol?

cook your food?

take caffeine?

circumcise?

not circumcise?

watch tv?

watch pornography?

read the Bible?

pray?

use vulgar language?

walk with your shoes inside the house?

wear shoes outside?

receive a vaccination shot?

microwave your food?

My, what a reckless and undeniably sickening lifestyle you and your loved ones have!

^ My point is that something to which you may not attribute much ethical or health-related significance may be seen in a completely different light by someone else. All of those activities have been scorned or rejected by one group or another. Those who have premarital sex aren't endangering themselves any more than someone who eats junk food or stays out in the sun all day without sunblock. And having it earlier doesn't make it more dangerous.

sex is natural, people experiment, as long as it doesn't hurt you why do you care so much? okay maybe if your boyfriend/girlfriend has been a manwhore/slut and you end up getting an STD thats one gripe, but you should have been having safe sex anyways

I dunno, I think my brother banging a new girl every week is a little more risky than me eating a Twinkie once a week.
