I just got confirmation that my app was recieved on 5/12/09, so I have one question, will I be grouped with the people who procrastinate on may 30th or will I have an earlier reply?

I Got in!! Yeah~~ gretch, mathemonster, see you in BU!

Ugh… I sent my app w/ 9 fulls and 1 partial during the last week of April. It is now May 30; I still have no reply. Will they deny me because it’s past the deadline?

I’ve been calling them for days, and no one picks up, and I called the directory at BU, but they didn’t know what PROMYS was.

Yetirat376- Send them an email. The email address is on the PROMYS website. They will tell you whether or not they’ve received your application. It shouldn’t be considered late if you sent it the last week of April, which was way before the deadline. Did you remind your teacher to mail in his/her recommendation? If your recommendation wasn’t sent, then you may have a problem…

“If you need general information, or an application to the high school program or the teacher’s program, email Kate Coughlin, PROMYS Coordinator, at promys@bu.edu.”

[PROMYS: Contact PROMYS](http://www.promys.org/contact.html)

Yea, my teacher sent in everything and I sent an email on May 21st…

I’m just getting paranoid now, but will they reply to me after the deadline for apps?

They start reviewing application when all of documents are arrived.
Deadline is just a deadline, not ‘admission’ deadline.

Hi–my son applied in mid-March and although we know they have his stuff (he added something in mid-April via email and got a reply), there has been absolutely no communication since–even though we emailed one other time in early May to see if they had any idea when he’d be considered.

You’re not alone in waiting a long time for an answer–I guess there’s been some sort of holdup or there are a lot of kids at a similar level and they’re waiting to find out what the entire pool of candidates looks like…?

Good luck everyone!

Maybe this can be a clue.
I sent my stuff in mid-March.
I had to report the result to my school ASAP so I asked them if I can get my result ASAP… (on May 8th). and they sent an e-mail to me on May 12th that my stuff is being reviewed, and gave me an admission on May 14th.

I have also applied for Promys but have not heard from them as yet. Do they inform only those who get in?

My son still hasn’t heard anything either…but I see from other entries on other forums that some people know they’re in, and others have received a rejection letter/email.

It feels late to us too, but I guess it’s a matter of just waiting…?

I don’t know what to tell you guys. I’ve got my info pack telling me my health forms are due on June 12th.

Wow–and yet it’s still only a week since the deadline, so I can’t say we’re ready to call them yet…

Let’s just hope everyone hears good news, and soon!

We heard from Promys this afternoon by email and my son won’t be attending.

Good luck to everyone else who’s waiting for an answer!

i got in as well.
guess i’ll be seeing some of you there ;]]

Gretch, shelly, etc. See you in Boston University~

momofmathkid : I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you a good luck.

I will be attending PROMYS this year as a second year. PROMYS is a great experience. Everyone there is well in the top 1% (math wise). The math is presented in a way where YOU solve everything. The experience of working on problem sets late at night and then finally solving a problem is amazing. The councilors (1:4) are very helpful. Each week is a grind but the weekends are mostly free and you can explore Boston.

I’ll see you guys in a few weeks!

Hey… has anyone haven’t heard anything from PROMYS yet?
coz i sent mine pretty late… like a week before deadline. And I’ve gotten the acceptance mail last friday(Jun.6th).
AND i got a call from Kate Coughlin, the coordinator, that i’ve got a full- ARML scholarship :D

is there any other female who got in? lol
i need some friendssss :P

see u at Boston guys
