Second post here and I hope I’m in the right section. I was wondering if there is any counselor, or anyone good at proofreading for that matter, who can help proofread my essay? Is there any general advice anyone could share on the CommonApp essay (What should be avoided/What should be focused)?

Show, don’t tell. No themes about “the big game,” mental illness. Keep it conversational, use big words if that’s how you speak, but don’t go out of your way to show off vocabulary or use stilted language. Be interesting. Polish it. Don’t go over the word count and have someone check your grammar. Use spell check. Good Luck!
