Pros and cons of NCF

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of attending NCF? It would be helpful if i knew both so i can make an informed decision!

It sounds like from your other posts that you are having a difficult time selecting which college to attend. Have you had the opportunity to visit any of your schools? That would be the most helpful. If you're unable to do that, try to make a list of what you hope to get out of your college experience and see which of your choices fits those needs.

As far as pros and cons, I'll do my best to list them to try to help you (this is from a student's mom POV):

Pros: Small class size, professors teach courses, small LAC with a great record of grads going on to elite post grad programs, challenging academics, students are very intellectual and open-minded, really great dorms, excellent opportunities to explore subjects of interest in-depth through tutorials and independent study, nice FL weather and Sarasota location...campus is right on the bay.

Cons: The cafeteria food isn't that great, the campus is adjacent to the airport and there isn't much in the way of shops and cafes within walking distance to the campus. NCF is not a traditional college with sports, greek life and those sorts of things if you want that kind of college experience. Sometimes it can be hard to get into a class you want, because they do limit class size.

NCF is definitely not for everyone, but if it's a fit, it really is an amazing college. I would also say that being self-motivated and directed is important to having a good experience there.

Hope this helps!
