Pros of Majoring in Econ and Minoring in IR?

<p>I've read all over that IR isn't good by itself as a major, why not? I've also read that its good to major in econ and minor in IR, why is that? Downsides to just majoring in econ and having no minor?</p>

<p>Economics by itself is too theoretical. It is always recommended to pair econ with something more practical like Math, Engineering, Physics, IR etc…</p>
