@collegecurious15 I would say just questions about you…similar to what you stated…typical interview questions. I don’t think my son felt there were any “trick” questions. I can’t say that I know what they are looking for. He really felt that they were just trying to find out more about him, going a bit deeper than his essay or portfolio or 1 minute video. The Freshman class this year is very diverse in talents, interests and personalities. I stand by my advice, try to relax and enjoy the process and the entire weekend. Make sure you get any of YOUR questions answered.
@MsMommy do you know how the scholarship process works? Like how many are given out, questions asked, grades, etc
@collegecurious15 Do you mean for the I&Y Academy? That I do not know. I assume that during the interview weekend you are also being considered for scholarships. In general, at USC, the scholarship dollars are offered to students they really want and are trying to woo to accept USC over offers from other top schools. I do not know how many scholarships are offered.
@MsMommy Can we wear casual clothes for the tours and such? And can you remember if you saw a lot of parent couples there, or just one parent with each kid? Just wondering about that. Thank you so much for your help!
@31415826 Couple parents, single parents and kids alone. However it works for your family will be fine. For your interview I saw someone post to not wear shorts, sneakers, etc. Nice pants and a shirt okay. I think my son did wear a jacket and tie, but that is how he likes to dress. For the tours and lunches I would say, “nice casual”. Just meaning not sloppy. You are welcome, does that answer your question adequately?
@MsMommy Ok thank you so much!
