How difficult is it to get into the HLS and YLS? need super well done undergrad GPA and awesome EC, internships?

YLS - ~6% acceptance rate...you need super badass LSAT score (usually 174+), a great GPA, for the most part you need to come from a pretty reputable undergrad school, and you need some kind of really sweet hook or ECs. Yale is cream of the crop.

HLS is more numbers focused and b/c they have more spots (bigger school), they accept more en masse. HLS seems to be a sucker for a great LSAT/GPA combo whereas YLS seems to be extremely holistic and random - you have to have the goods for HLS and then something really special.

thanks for Brand! I dunno if i will go into law after undergrad... great information. How much do lawyers usually earn (:P)

depends on what you do. private practice coming out of a top law school you'll probably start around 100k+ with a nice bonus and depending on how good you are, advance. grads in large cities (NYC, Boston) are more likely to make more simply due to cost of living.

If you are interested in law, make sure you really want it. If you don't enjoy it, you'll either have a hellish three years or flunk out b/c you really have to dedicate yourself. Business is an easier way to make more money initially probably and you don't have to push yourself as hard either.
