My name is Nick. I am an upcoming college senior that lives in Dallas, Texas. I would really like to know more information on Tufts. I am a white male that speaks NEARLY fluent in Spanish. I am aspiring to study Spanish and expand on languages, do another study abroad, be in a competitive setting, and be around a major city (or in it...Boston).

I recently did a year abroad in Chile on a student ambassador scholarship with Rotary International. This took my whole junior year (hence, the lack of AP tests taken and high GPA) - Rotary Student Ambassador to Chile

My ACT as of now is unknown. I want to say worst case scenario that I will score a 25. I would be happy with a 27-29. That would make me happy.

My class rank from sophomore year was about 25/550 (assume it will be in the same range)... with about a 3.7 GPA (colleges will see that since I was absent junior year from high school in the US and my GPA will not be updated until after senior year...

Participated and succeeded in Varsity Swimming 9th, 10th, 12th grade. Earned letter jacket 10th grade in the 500 yard free. Placed 12th in Dallas/Ft. Worth Regionals

Participated in Student Council 9th 10th 12th

Work experience: Worked in Pizza Place 10th grade to make money for Chile. And just hired to be lifeguard (12th).

AP Tests Taken: AP World History (passed witha a 3...) Soph. year. First AP Test taken. Have about 5 next year. Don´t think they will serve me since I will already know if I am rejected or accepted.

National Honor Society - 12th grade (couldn´t participate junior year - Chile -was accepted Junior Year.

Community Service - about 40 hours to 3rd grade students wanting to learn English in Chile.

I would probably have a very polished application with many AP´s if I voted against going to Chile. I´m glad I voted against it, however, it will hurt me in the long run. Would Tufts look down upon that?

Are subject tests required at Tufts? Is it ok if I only submit the ACT? I really don´t like the SAT. My PSAT didn´t come out very high...unfortunately I sent it to Tufts.

Tufts isn´t exactly a cheap college. Did anyone receive reasonable financial aid? Are the courses to rigorous to work at the same time? I think the price will be a very important factor for me...as I do not want to to pay 40,000 a year for college and be in an enormous debt after I graduate. Tell me anything you know! How did you guys get through with it, assuming that not everyone´s parents are paying for their college!

I have a lot of questions. I would love to communicte with any students.

Is Tufts interested in the creative and risky type of person or interested in the 4.0´er that is enlisted in every ec possible? What do they want?
