I've been looking at the USC website and i've grown quite attached to it. There are many things about the school that attract me including the advertising department and the hillel.

I was just wondering if there is anyone here who goes to USC or knows a lot about it who could give me the real deal. Not the filtered version that the school puts on the website. I'd love to know what it's really like and try and make sure I'm not kidding my self.

Is there are way you can contact someone from the usc hillel directly?
I am not sure that many students check these boards very often. I may be wrong, but from what I can tell mostly parents visit this board.
OOS students who qualify academically can be eligible for in state tuition.
My daughter lives in the Capstone dorm and about 40-50% of the residents there are from out of state. USC also has a nice Honors College program that also has numerous out of state students.
Good Luck!

My S is an out of state soph from NY.While not involved with Hillel (he's half Jewish) he did help out a prospective freshman this year with Hillel questions and knows while its a small group, it is active and has a presence at all organization fairs. Its a good idea to contact them directly. Make sure you are comfortable in an atmosphere where the overwhelming presence is non Jewish.
There is also a student organization group called Out of State Mentors. They should be able to help you out, even finding a California kid for you to correspond with. Maybe someone from the Admissions Office can put you in touch with them. If you want info specifically on the Honors College, or applying for scholarships at USC send me a PM.
