Way to backpedal

^What was that, liberal? I don't get your reasoning. Why am I backpedaling?

How will legalizing prostitution lead to a rise in crime?
Yeah, but teenagers wouldn't have sex as often as a prostitute. Having sex is her JOB.
IMO, but mix horny kids + misinformation about sex(depending on strength of sex ed curriculum)= possibility of STD/pregnancy. In my area, sex ed consists of how to say no (abstinence, which to me is foolish). We don't talk about contraceptives, how to get STDs, etc.

A prostitute wll have sex, but if she has some common sense she will be educated about STDs, methods of preventing them and will keep up with updated info. I don't imagine a lot of teens doing that and as for frequency of sexual encounters...I couldn't tell you that. If I were a prostitute that is what I would be doing.

<quote>So legalizing guns leads to more murders? Legalizing cars leads to more drive by shootings? Legalizing planes leads to more hijackings? Or does legalizing knives lead to more stabbings? Incredible bunch you are.</quote>

The increased sale of guns may lead to an increase in hunting, but murder is just something that a SMALL minority of people do with the guns. With prostitution, the only thing that you do is have sex. Even if you do use a condom, **** happens and it WOULD lead to an increase in STDs.

BTW, your example about more planes=more hijackings makes you sounds like an idiot.

Well, liberal, use your melon! Why do drugs normally increase crime? Because an individual often times has to STEAL money in order to purchase this contraband. Thus, people who want to do this illegal activity may have to STEAL money in order to do so. Seems pretty straight forward for I.

Edit: this post is for Drew ACLU.

shaddix
But these woman are PROSTITUTES. If they were smart they wouldn't work in that proffesion. I am sure that normal people would try and prevent STDs, and I am sure that some prostitues do...but still. They're whores.

That's because a lot of people get addicted to drugs. People aren't stealing to get money to go to hookers, there is a relatively small amount of sex addicts out there.

agreed. it should be legalized, and taxed, with STD testing requirements.

Funny how the crime rate in this country was lower when drugs were legal, huh? The reason why they are expensive is simple economics. You regulate something, a black market opens up, increasing prices. The 'increase in crime due to drugs' is probably just a weak correlation. If it is indeed a stronger correlation, its the fault of the government. So in short, prostitution or drugs don't increase crime rate.

Then why is this illegal activity prevalent, Drew?

Plus Hookers are considerably cheaper than expensive drugs like heroine and cocaine.

How would you know? You are obviously making blatant assumptions.

Because people can afford to pay for hookers, you can find hookers that charge for next to nothing. Drugs are completely different

No, they are not. Simple economics apply here too.

It's a well known fact that heroine and cocaine are very expensive because it takes a lot more effort/money to produce and ship it.

How do you all know? People here are saying, "Wellz, them thar are cheep, yessir." You kids are making blatant assumptions.

It is a well known fact that the price is due to the fact that they are not legal.

Even then, you are wrong. Herion has gone down in prices.

I have a friend that does coke. He doesn't pay that much for it.

Actually I know a kid who has gone to prostitutes and he talks about it and it costs about 10-20 bucks.
