Umm, Harvard advertises like crazy! What do you think all those letters to potential applicants are??

How lame, Harvard. How undeniably lame.

“Managing Yourself”??

Wow, Harvard. Fail.

They only want to recruit type A personality students, they’d better give these people medicine
They have a lot of money to spend, they’d better remind themselves what to do
They go around the world and recruit sons and daughters of corrupted high ranking officers of governments around the world, they’d better give these dictator clans directions

Scribbler, that’s the problem with the slogan – one cannot tell whether in fact the sloppy addition of the “ing” renders “thinking” a participle or a gerund technically speaking because the phrase is so poorly formed ( the is or the possessive 's). If they meant it as a participle, then it’s dangling; if they meant it as a gerund, then it suffers faulty connection. At the very least, it is an example of unacceptable ambiguity. In short, they needed a true noun, or an ad agency that studied English past the ninth grade : )

Must be the same agency that came up with the former SciFi channels new idiotic branding campaign: “SyFy” (guess they could not trademark SciFi) and the slogan “Imagine Greater.”

Again, imagine greater WHAT you bozos : )
Boo hiss to NBC too.

Northwestern has ads

Harvard usually sets the tone for eventual standards. The slogans do seem to
relate to the school of business which righly so should be concerend with branding.

It would nto be surprising to see an outpouring of simialr slogan trademarking form
the usual suspects.

Those phrases fail.

Lol, I’ve never even HEARD of those slogans for Harvard … ^^ Either I’m incredibly out of the loop, or they’ve never really been publicized
And guys, I thought the MIT packet was cute! They sent me this awesome little booklet that was like 30 pages long
But Caltech’s periodic table of … uh … Caltech takes the cake for college advertising :D

college branding is laughable in my opinion
even on cc, look around you at the ads
all the college adds have some kind of attempt at branding
i sometimes refresh the browser just to get a laugh
even my own school, Rice, has a somewhat funny brand
“Unconventional Wisdom”
come on now, brands are cheap and non-substantial

lol sull rose state U in texas
slogan: WITHIN YOUR REACH!
good ad for the cc board

This is funny.

Groucho Marx had some words that would seem to apply.
It goes on a while longer but you get the point. A Night in Casablanca was released in 1946.

This reminds me of the company in Europe that somehow managed to copyright a portion of Fur Elise…

It was better than their first idea, “Managers of Our Own Domain.”
