provisional admission (ucla)

hi,

i'm sure many of you have had or will have this problem. I'm a freshman admit to ucla (class of 2010), so i'm gonna start in the fall of this year. And my cumulative high school GPA (excluding the very last semester) was above 4.0. However, this last semester, I got 2 C's and 3B's in my five courses, four of which are AP's. I know I probably shouldn't be worried, but I just need some assurance from someone who has had this happen to him/her before.

The reason I ask is because in the so-called "provisional contract", it says I must maintain a 3.0 gpa, yada yada yada in order to attend.

What do you think?

thanks in advance

I think its really cool that admissions even let you in. I mean the drop in GPA could mean a variety of things but it looks like a bad situation that must be rectified by some form of reasoning. So to be let in on the basis of a contract is really cool. Maintaining a 3.0 shouldn't look too difficult for you being a prior 4.0 student.
