PR's small group tutoring?

Has anyone done Princeton Review's small group tutoring? I was looking up classes, and then saw that they do this, with three friends in a small class, with you picking your schedule. It costs more than the regular class but is definitely cheaper than private tutoring and it looks great on paper (well, on the web, I guess!). I've gone through their book a little bit and so far I like it.

Any input would be great. Thanks!!!

Ah, to put it shortly, princeton review = mediocre, especially for the price.

I'd suggest you go with a private, one-on-one tutor instead for the same price.

edit: tutor not from pr. :)

My D (college sophomore) did small-group tutoring, and is now a PR tutor herself. If you want to hear more, feel free to PM me.

Thanks -I just PMed you.

For what it's worth, my impression has been that PR often gives these small classes to their best or most experienced tutors.

This is completely anecdotal, based on a few cases from my own experience.

Still, if the smaller class gives you access to a better teacher, it might be worth the extra cost.

I think it depends on the teacher. If you have a teacher who has never taken the SAT and is merely going off of some book, forget it. You need a teacher who has scored high on the SAT, otherwise its no different from reading a book yourself. But i have no experience with PR's tutors

I talked to PR after getting a great rec from Harriet...only their best teachers do the small group tutoring, so I'm not worried about that. The course materials are supposed to be awesome too. So I'm going to do it.

Thanks everybody!!
